What will I get from taking one of your courses?
All of LMI’s courses have three objectives: personal transformation, developing the skills to coach others to heart transformation, and leadership practices for building cultures of transformation. Your deepest desires will be filled by Father’s powerful, experiential touch. You’ll walk in a place of greater daily experience of his love and your communion, and you’ll emerge equipped to lead others into that place of transformation. Get ready to get rocked!
What is the difference between the three courses (Transforming the Heart, Relating from the Heart and Living from the Heart)?
All three courses are about engaging from the heart. Transforming the Heart focuses most on the vertical relationship with God—it opens new horizons for relating to Jesus from the heart and coaching others into deeper intimacy and heart-level change. This course explains the MetaFormation heart model and examines in depth how the human heart functions and how heart change occurs.
Relating from the Heart focuses on engaging from the heart in your horizontal relationships with people. You’ll learn how to do conflict, feedback, affirmation and transparency from the heart, become more aware of how your beliefs and desires drive your relational responses, and become more able to experience God touching your heart through others.
Living from the Heart is about engaging your circumstances—it’s rewriting your life story from heaven’s perspective. You’ll become highly sensitive to how God leverages circumstances to accomplish his purpose, learn to coach others to reframe events from heaven’s perspective, and gain a deep sense of God with you in daily life.
Which course should I take first? Do I have to take all three?
The courses are set up so you can start with any one and take them in any order. And each course stands alone, so you can take one, two or all three depending on your interests. If you want a recommendation, for many people starting with Transforming the Heart has some advantages, but it is not required.
What is included in my registration? Do I need to buy anything else?
Your registration is all-inclusive. You only pay for travel, lodging and meals. Each MetaFormation core course includes the following:
- 3.5 day in-person workshop, limited to 32 participants for an intimate atmosphere.
- A 60-90 minute Taste of Heaven encounter, with a heaven room, actors, staging, original music and more!
- You'll go through the workshop with a close team of four peers.
- 8 weeks of team follow-up, with group coaching for the facilitator
- Course manual
Do I need to be a coach to participate?
No, you don’t. Our courses teach coaching skills – you’ll pick up how to coach the heart as you go. If you are already a coach, you’ll find that we apply coaching techniques in such a different way and to different parts of a person’s life that almost none of the workshop will repeat things you already know. If you are interested in receiving a coaching certification for completing the course work, click here for details.
What should I bring?
You’ll want your bible and some note-taking materials, and casual dress. We’ll provide the course manual and everything else when you get here. Redding, California weather is mild in the winter, beautiful in spring and fall and very hot and dry in the summer—in July our average high is 99.5 degrees (37.5 degrees centigrade).
How much pre-work is there?
The pre-work is very important but doesn’t take much time to complete—it is usually takes an hour or so. We use the pre-work you do before the workshop to help create the experience you have in the Taste of Heaven encounter, so we are going to keep after you til you finish it!
I don’t live in California—how will I participate in the follow-up teams if I don’t live near anyone?
No problem! Most of our follow-up groups meet virtually, over a bridge line like www.free-conference.com or skype. No matter where you live, you can still participate fully. Remote groups work because you get so close during the workshop that it is easy to communicate well at a distance.
You say the workshop will be done in teams—who will be on my team?
On the first day of the workshop, we do some get-to-know-you activities (our famous speed-dating), have the powerful shared experience of the Taste of Heaven together, and then you get to choose your teammates.
